On August 4, 2022, the actress filed a case in the Chandigarh court regarding a dispute related to a Punjabi film titled 'Bai Ji Kutangen'. Upasana Singh has demanded compensation of Rs 1 crore for the film.

Upasana Singh says, 'The film's director Smeep Kang and the producers also contacted Harnaaz, but could not talk to anyone. Harnaaz Kaur Sandhu did not respond to any message or mail after becoming Miss Universe. This has caused a huge loss to the film and its distributors. We had to postpone the release of the film as well. Due to the delay, our image also suffered a lot.

According to the case filed in the court, in the year 2020, Harnaz won the title of Femina Miss India Punjab. Sandhu then signed an artist agreement with Santosh Entertainment Studio LLP. Upasana Singh runs this entertainment studio. This studio was making a Punjabi film 'Bai Ji Kutangen' in which Harnaz was given the lead role. It was mentioned in the agreement that the artist was to be physically and virtually involved in the promotional activity of the film, but Harnaz was missing.
Alleged breach of contract
In this case, Harnaz Sandhu has been accused of breaking the contract. Upasana Singh says that after Harnaaz Sandhu became Miss Universe, she started feeling small in the Punjabi film industry. She started thinking of herself as a big star and even stopped picking up our calls. Upasana was launching her son in this film. Now because of Harnaz Sandhu, he has suffered a big loss.
