Had to go to Patna, reached Udaipur, Indigo crossed the limits of negligence

DGCA has sought a report in this matter and has spoken of action against the airline.

A big case of negligence of the employees of Indigo Airlines has come to the fore in which a person had to go from Delhi to Patna but he was taken to Udaipur, 1400 km away from his destination. After this incident, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has ordered an inquiry. This incident is being reported on January 30 (Monday) and the passenger was sent to his destination the next day.

The name of the passenger is being told as Officer Hussain. A senior DGCA official said that the passenger, identified as Afsar Hussain, had booked a ticket to Patna through Indigo flight 6E-214 and reached Delhi airport on January 30 to board the scheduled flight. But by mistake he boarded Indigo's Udaipur flight 6E-319.

DGCA asked for the report of the case

The passenger realized the mistake only after landing at Udaipur airport. After this, he informed the officials at Udaipur airport, who informed the airline about the matter. The airline reportedly flew him back to Delhi the same day and then to Patna on January 31. The DGCA official said, "We are seeking a report in this matter and appropriate action will be taken against the airline."

He said that in the investigation, the DGCA will find out why the boarding pass of the passenger was not scanned properly and before boarding the boarding pass is checked at two points as per rules, then how he boarded the wrong flight. "We are aware of the incident involving a passenger on 6E319 Delhi-Udaipur flight," the airline said in a statement issued on Friday.

The airline said, “We are in talks with the authorities in this matter. We apologize for the inconvenience caused to the passengers. This is the second such incident in an IndiGo flight in the last 20 days. Earlier on January 13, a passenger who had a flight ticket and boarding pass for Indore boarded the wrong flight and was taken to Nagpur.
