Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has presented the general budget of the country today. In this budget, a big announcement has also been made for the education sector. Presenting the country's general budget in the Lok Sabha, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced for education that new programs will be started for the training of teachers in the country. Apart from this, 157 new nursing colleges have been announced. Apart from this, the National Digital Library will be opened up to the panchayat and ward level. Books will be given in regional and English language. Work on literacy will be done in collaboration with NGOs. Apart from this, 38800 teacher-employees will be appointed for Eklabya ​​schools.

How much did the education sector get in 2022?

In the budget of the year 2022, a budget of Rs 1 lakh 4 thousand 277 crore was given to the education sector. Out of this Rs 63,449 crore was given for school education. Rs 40,828 crore was allocated for higher education. About Rs 37,383 crore has been allocated for universal education. In 2021, a total budget allocation of 30 thousand crores was made for this scheme.

IIT got Rs 8, 495 crore

In the budget of the year 2022, the allocation for the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) was increased from 8344.84 crores to 8, 495 crores. A provision of Rs 5320.91 crore was made for the University Grants Commission (UGC) and AICTE. Whereas in the budget of the year 2021, a provision of Rs 5139.2 crore was made for this.
