Earthquake hits Turkey again, one dead, many injured, buildings collapse

After the devastating earthquake in Turkey three weeks ago, earthquake tremors have been felt once again.

Earthquake tremors have been felt once again in Turkey . This time this earthquake has come in the southern part of Turkey. According to information, a 5.6-magnitude earthquake occurred in the southern part of Turkey on Monday, due to which some buildings were destroyed. One person died in the earthquake. The country's disaster management agency AFAD gave this information.

Three weeks ago i.e. on February 6, there was a huge devastation in the Turkey-Syria region due to the powerful earthquake. AFAD chief Yunus Sezer said Monday's earthquake was centered in the town of YeÅŸiltar in Malatya province. He said that 69 people were injured in the earthquake. At the same time, more than two dozen buildings fell.

Teams engaged in rescue operation

YeÅŸiltar mayor Mehmet Sinar told Haberturk television that search and rescue teams in Malatya were clearing debris after buildings collapsed. He said a man and his daughter had gone to retrieve their belongings from an already damaged four-story building in YeÅŸiltar, but both were trapped under the rubble.

48 thousand people died in Turkey and Syria

Malatya was among the 11 provinces of Turkey that were badly affected by the 7.8 magnitude earthquake. The earthquake on February 6 caused massive devastation in parts of southern Turkey and northern Syria. The earthquake has so far claimed more than 48,000 lives in both countries and caused serious damage to 173,000 buildings in Turkey. The head of Turkey's Disaster Management Agency said that there is a risk of several aftershocks after the earthquake. Since the powerful earthquake of January 6, there have been about 10,000 tremors in the region.
