Attention If you upload such videos on YouTube, you will be jailed… Government will not spare

The law of pre-natal sex determination in the country is very strict and the ministry is constantly monitoring it on social media. The government has identified 4000 such videos on YouTube.

Those who upload videos of pre-natal sex determination on YouTube are no longer safe. The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has sent notices to YouTubers who uploaded videos of pre-natal sex determination on their channels. The ministry has ordered YouTubers to remove these videos within 36 hours. If YouTubers do not do this, then legal action will be taken against them and such people may have to go to jail. The government has identified 4000 such videos on YouTube.

Pre-Conception and Pre-Natal Diagnostic Techniques Act 1994 (PCPNDT Act) bans prenatal sex determination in the country. Diagnostic centers are asked to strictly follow the rules under this act. This act was made to prevent female feticide and to stop the falling sex ratio in India.

Ministry monitoring social media

Ministry's secretary PV Mohandas said that the ministry is regularly monitoring social media for such objectionable content. When this video came to our notice, we first identified the objectionable channels and made a list of them. Later, we sent notices to such channels to remove the videos.

PV Mohandas told that earlier the ministry had also asked search engine Google to remove such objectionable content. Mohandas said that if any person sees content violating the PCPNDT Act on websites or social media platforms, he can complain to the nodal officers in the state or to the ministry by email at pndtmohfw@gmail.com .

There are millions of views of such videos on YouTube

In fact, a few days ago, Dr. Anuj Aggarwal, a radiologist from Delhi, found a video on YouTube, which claimed to be part of the nursing staff at AIIMS Hospital. The YouTube channel was full of videos on pregnancy, pregnancy tips and prenatal sex determination techniques. The surprising thing was that about seven lakh people had seen this video.
