How To Make Tomato Upma: Upma is a very famous South Indian food which people usually like to eat for breakfast. There are many types of upma like- masala upma, semolina upma or mix veg upma etc. But have you ever tried tomato upma? If not, today we have brought you the recipe for making tomato upma. Tomato Upma is tasty as well as full of nutrition.

You can make and feed this to children in lunch as well. Kids will love its taste. It takes only 10 minutes to make it, so let's know how to make Tomato Upma. 

Ingredients required to make Tomato Upma-

1 cup rava 

2 tomatoes 

1/2 onion chopped 

2 tbsp peas 

2 beans chopped 

3 tbsp peanuts 

1 tsp mustard  seeds

1 inch piece ginger chopped 

2 green chillies 

2 tbsp green coriander leaves 

8-10 curry leaves 

1/2 tsp urad dal 

1 /4 tsp turmeric 

1/4 tsp sugar 

1 tbsp desi ghee 

2 tbsp oil 

salt  to taste

How to make Tomato Upma? (How To Make Tomato Upma) 

To make tomato upma, first wash the tomatoes and onions and chop them finely.

Then wash green chilies and green coriander leaves and cut them into fine pieces.

After this, put rava in a pan and fry it on low flame for about 4-5 minutes.

Then when the semolina becomes pink and fragrant after roasting, you turn off the gas.

After this, put oil in another pan and heat it on medium flame.

Then add mustard seeds, urad dal and curry leaves and fry them.

After this, add peanuts to it and fry till it becomes crispy.  

Then add finely chopped onion and cook till it turns light pink.

After this, add chopped ginger and green chilies and fry them for about 1 minute.

Then add finely chopped tomatoes and cook till it becomes soft.

After this, add peas and beans to it and cook it well.

Then you add turmeric, sugar and salt as per taste and cook for 1 minute.

After this, boil it by adding 3 cups of water and 1 tablespoon of ghee.

Then put roasted rava in it and slow down the flame of the gas while stirring.

After this you cook it till all the water from semolina dries up.

Then you boil it well and turn off the gas.

Now your tasty and healthy tomato upma is ready.

Then garnish it with finely chopped coriander leaves and serve hot.
