After the presentation of the Economic Survey in Parliament, Chief Economic Advisor (CEA) V. Ananth Nageswaran will hold a press conference and inform the media about the survey. The Economic Survey is presented in both the Houses of the Parliament. Mainly, the Economic Survey is an account of the country's economic development in a year. Who prepares this survey?

This economic survey, presented just a day before the budget, is prepared by the Economic Division. It is a department under the Ministry of Finance which is also known as Economic Affairs. Through the survey, the government tells how the current economic condition of the country is and it also expresses its estimates for the next years. The Economic Survey used to be presented along with the budget since 1964, but after that it started being presented just a day before the budget.
