Facebook India: American giant tech company Meta has made a big announcement. The company has appointed Vikas Purohit as Global Business Group Director in India . The company is facing huge losses in recent times. In such a situation, the appointment of the priest is important in many ways. While in this position, he has to work closely with big brands and advertising agencies, so that the company's earnings increase. Purohit has many years of experience in this field.
Talking about Vikas Purohit's new role, he has to work with media and creative agencies. It will be his responsibility to persuade big advertisers and agencies to adopt Meta's digital tools. This will give the company an opportunity to increase earnings. Meta's business team, agency team and business solutions team will report to Purohit.
Worked in Reliance, Amazon, Tata Cliq
According to Meta, Purohit has over 20 years of work experience in senior business, sales and marketing roles. He has worked in companies like Tata Cliq, Amazon, Aditya Birla Group and Tommy Hilfiger before taking over the retail business of Reliance Brands. While working at Amazon, he played a major role in creating and leading Amazon Fashion.
Purohit has studied from IIT
Prior to joining Meta, he was working at Tata Cliq, where he held the position of COO for two years before becoming the CEO. He has worked in Tata Cliq for a total of 6 years and 2 months. He has done B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from IIT, Banaras Hindu University. After this he completed PGDBM from Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore in 2000-02.
India business head also joined
In November last year, Sandhya Devanathan took over as the head and vice president of Meta India Business. Prior to that, former head Ajit Mohan left the company to become the Asia Pacific business president for Meta's rival Snap. Devanathan assumes office on January 1, 2023, and reports to Dan Neary, Vice President of Meta's Asia Pacific region.
