If your child is more afraid then there may be signs of anxiety or stress, how to identify and diagnose

Sometimes children are frightened by a situation or stuff that adults may not find scary. Making fun of the child or forcing them to face their fear will only make the situation worse.

Anxiety is such a common problem that adults as well as children have to face it. Nervousness or other symptoms are seen in about 20 percent of children. This includes minor apprehensions such as being afraid of dogs or general fears such as always thinking that something is going to go wrong. The reason for fear can be internal as well as external. The desire to do well in school, parental quarrels or talks about divorce, change of city or school, busy routines, stress as well as nervousness can increase in children.

According to experts, now parents are more stressed than ever. This may be due to the changing economic or political environment in the world. But of course it also has an effect on children. A child cannot understand where or which way he is passing. The child sees the defensive behavior of his parents as his own weakness and incompetence. In most cases, the nervousness or fear of children ends with age. The child grows up and likes to talk and connect with new people. But, the symptoms of fear cannot be ignored in the hope that it will end. It needs attention, maybe a sign of something more serious. One of the biggest reasons for not being able to identify fear in the beginning is because it doesn't really look like it. The behavioral and physical symptoms may be different in children. A 12-year-old may behave aggressively to counter his nervousness. Whereas a 5-year-old can calm down before going to school.

Signs of anxiety and stress in children:
Staying in bed most nights, developing new habits that show nervousness such as biting nails or moving the arms or legs frequently. Difficulty sleeping, difficulty concentrating, frequent complaints of headache or abdominal pain, insistence on refusing to go to school, frequent temper tantrums. Sometimes children are frightened by a situation or stuff that adults may not find scary. Making fun of the child or forcing them to face their fear will only make the situation worse. You can help your child by taking their fears seriously and encouraging them to share their feelings.

Tips to relieve children's anxiety
Parents may think that their child is showing any of the above symptoms, it could be fear or excessive stress. The best way to combat that is to go to an expert. The child may be fine or may be facing problems. But without reaching any conclusion about it, taking expert opinion is the best solution. When you realize that your child's stress level is affecting their daily life in general, you should try to understand that this is the right time to seek help. The psychologist can change the negative thoughts of the child and requires special medical care.
