South African fast bowler Dale Steyn retired from all forms of cricket


South African fast bowler Dale Steyn announced his retirement from international cricket on Tuesday. 
Dale Steyn has announced his retirement from all formats of the game. 38-year-old Dale Steyn had not played any matches at the international level since February 2020. He played his last international match in the T20 format, which was against Australia in Johannesburg.

With this announcement, Dale Steyn's 17-year long career came to an end. During his career, Dale Steyn troubled many famous batsmen of the world and presented challenging situations against them.

Steyn announced his retirement on Twitter. The 38-year-old fast bowler played 93 Tests, 125 One Day Internationals and 47 T20 Internationals for South Africa during his 17-year long international career.

Steyn wrote, 'Today I formally retire from the sport I love the most. Thanks to everyone, from family to teammates, journalists to fans, it's been a wonderful journey together.

Stan expressed his feelings in his letter announcing his retirement, referring to a song by American rock band 'Counting Crow'.

The fast bowler wrote, 'It's been 20 years of training, matches, travels, wins, losses, achievements, fatigue, happiness and brotherhood. There are many memorable moments to tell. Many people have to be thanked. So I leave it to the experts, my favorite band, Counting Crow.' Earlier, Dale Steyn announced his retirement from Test cricket in the year 2019.
