Now you can update the mobile number linked to Aadhar card with the help of postman sitting at home. India Post Payment Bank (IPPB) and Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) have made such arrangements so that Aadhaar card holders can update their mobile numbers through postman. This service will be provided to the people by 1.46 lakh postmen and Gramin Dak Sevaks (GDS) across the country as well as 650 India Post Payment Bank (IPPB) network.
UIDAI CEO Subhash Garg said that this step will help the countrymen a lot in updating their mobile numbers in their Aadhar card. Along with this, people will also get the benefits of many welfare schemes of the government sitting at home.
Access to remote areas
IPPB MD and CEO J Venkataramu said on the occasion of the launch of this facility that this will increase our reach to remote areas and will make the process of correcting errors in the digital Aadhar card even easier now.
Now you will be able to update the mobile number of your Aadhar card with the help of the postman sitting at home. Along with this, people living in rural areas will get the benefit of government facilities (LPG MNREGA money will also come directly to their account). IPPB and UIDAI will allow postmen to update mobile numbers of Aadhaar card holders. Currently, India Post Payment Bank is providing only mobile number updating service, but soon it will also provide the facility of enrollment of children through its network.

At present IPPB is the only mobile updating service provider. It solves the bank related problem of the people in 13 languages.
