Free food grains are being given to every person by the Central Government through the Food Security Act. Anyway, the government provides food grains cheaply to the ration card holders. Earlier, people had to take ration only by visiting their nearest ration distribution center or the center allotted on the ration card. However, since One Nation One Ration Card, any ration card holder can take food grains from any dealer.

If you also want to take food grains from a dealer other than your old dealer, then you have to update it in your records. The special thing is that you can update it yourself through online medium and then select the dealer as per your convenience. After this, you can take grains from that dealer. In such a situation, know what is its process and how you can change dealer in ration card through online medium.

What is the process to change dealer?

• If you want to change the dealer through online medium, then first of all go to the official website of the Food and Logistics Department of your state and you can search it through FCS.
• In this, you will see an option like below on the home page, in which it will be written 'Form for selecting shop by the ration card holder himself'. After clicking on it, a page will open in front of you, in which you will have to fill the requested information including ration card number.
• After this, all the information will be available on your screen, in which the name of your shopkeeper will also be written.
• If you want to change this shopkeeper, then you will get an option below, in which it will be written 'Select new shop'. After clicking on it, you will get a list of many shopkeepers and in this you can select your favorite dealer.
• Along with this, you also have to give the reason for changing the dealer and write down your reason. Then click on Modify. You will update this in just a few minutes.
• After this, after going back to the home page, filling your details, print the change and sign on it.

Let us tell you that after this you will have to give this print to the new dealer and you can also get it approved by the Food Inspector of the Tehsil and submit it to the department. Also, let us tell you that you can change it only once in 6 months.
