Corona virus has been found in the Sabarmati river, which is called the lifeline of Ahmedabad in Gujarat. All the samples taken from here have been found infected. Along with the Sabarmati river, samples taken from other water sources of Ahmedabad, Kankaria, Chandola lake have also been found infected.
When the researchers also examined the rivers in Guwahati region of Assam, a sample corona taken from Bharu river was found infected there.
Eight institutes of the country studied together
The presence of viruses in all these samples has been reported to be very high. Eight institutions of the country, including IIT Gandhi Nagar, have jointly conducted this study, including students from the School of Environmental Sciences, JNU, New Delhi.
Last year, the presence of corona virus was detected during the investigation by taking samples from sewage. After this study, the study was started again to find out about the natural water source as well.
Why Ahmedabad and Guwahati were chosen for the study
