The Bombay High Court has pronounced its verdict on a petition filed by the sisters of late Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput. Today i.e. on Tuesday, the Bombay High Court in its judgment dismissed the case against Meetu Singh, while further proceedings have been ordered against Priyanka Singh. Riya Chakraborty had lodged an FIR against Sushant's sisters, against whom he had approached the court.
Let us tell you that in the last hearing, the Bombay High Court had reserved its decision after hearing the arguments of both the parties. Riya Chakraborty's lawyer Satish Manshinde has expressed happiness after the court's verdict came today. The lawyer said that we are satisfied with the decision of the court. Riya Chakraborty filed a case on the sisters of late actor Sushant at Bandra police station on 7 September. In her complaint, Riya accused Sushant's sisters Priyanka and Mitu Singh that they had met Delhi doctor Tarun Kumar and had written a fake prescription for Sushant. Medicines were prescribed for Sushant without knowing his mental condition. He also alleged that the drugs were administered to Sushant on 8 June and the actor committed suicide on 14 June. Therefore, there are also allegations of forcing all three to commit suicide.
After this case filed by Riya, Sushant's sisters had approached the Bombay High Court and demanded the cancellation of Riya's FIR. Vikas Singh, advocate for Sushant's sisters, had said in the petition that Riya Chakraborty's complaint is baseless and strict action should be taken against him. He also said that Riya lodged an FIR only to divert attention from the case of Sushant Singh Rajput's death.
Let's say that on 14 June 2020, Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead in his apartment in Bandra. On one side, the Mumbai Police was considering it as a suicide. On the other hand, Sushant's family called it a case of abetment of suicide. He filed a case against Riya Chakraborty accusing Sushant of forcibly giving him drugs and abetting him to suicide. The case is now being investigated by the CBI.
During the investigation of Sushant's death, a drugs angle came to light, so the names of big Bollywood celebrities were also associated with this case. The Narcotics Control Bureau has so far made 31 arrests in this case. Riya Chakraborty was also arrested in the drugs case, but currently he is out on bail.
