Bumrah has acquired the art that was once used by Pakistani bowlers: says Shoaib Akhtar

New Delhi:
Pakistan fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar has praised Indian fast bowler Jaspreet Bumrah. Akhtar described Bumrah as a "smart fast bowler" and said he had learned the art of putting opposing batsmen in trouble. Akhtar, one of the fastest bowlers in the world, has been impressed by Bumrah.

Akhtar said that he is probably the first Indian bowler to know which side the wind is from and at what speed it moves before looking at the grass on the pitch. This art was previously possessed by Pakistani bowlers. We knew how to use air. Akhtar gave the example of Wasim Akram and Waqar Yunus and explained how they used air while bowling.

"Me, Wasim Bhai and Waqar Bhai were looking at the speed and direction of the wind to decide from which side we would get a reverse swing," Akhtar said. We knew the mechanics of fast bowling and aero dynamics. We knew how many swings we would get at what time of day. I know Bumrah knows these kinds of things.

Bumrah is the best bowler in terms of shrewdness after Mohammad Asif and Mohammad Aamir. Bumrah scares the batsmen in just five seconds. Bumrah scares the batsmen in just five seconds because of his wicket-taking ability, said the former Pakistan fast bowler.
