From January 1, the company is going to make domestic calls free for all its customers . Geo customers can make free calls anywhere and on any network without paying any charge.
IUC will end for Domestic Voice
With Geo's free calling feature, the IUC for domestic calls will also end. Let me tell you that Interconnect Usage Charge (IUC) is a charge that a telecom operator pays to another telecom company while a customer calls a customer of another operator from his operator. Calls between two different networks are also known as mobile off-net calls.
The decision was taken following the order of TRAI
Geo has taken this decision after the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) abolished the IUC charge on domestic calls. It is to be mentioned that in September 2019, TRAI extended the deadline for the implementation of this bill, after which Geo started taking money from its users. The company also said it would remove the charge after repealing the rule on behalf of TRAI.
