Govinda was also cast in the film, but was dropped from the film. Now Anurag Basu has said why he removed Govinda from the film.
Talking about this, Anurag told a news portal that the shooting of 'Jagga Jasoos' was postponed for a long time and then there was confusion as to whether Govinda was coming for the shooting or not. Is he taking a flight or not? Or shooting should be canceled. Anurag Basu said that something was not understood at that time and he could not take so much stress. The shooting was going on in South Africa at the time and everything was planned and this was the reason why I moved away from Govinda.
Later in the year 2017, Govinda expressed his displeasure through several tweets that he has been removed from the film. He said in his tweet that ‘I did my job as an actor, if the director was not happy with it it was his decision. "I was not feeling well and the bottles were going up, yet I went to South Africa and finished my shooting," Govinda said.
