Abhimanyu Easwaran continues to make big records in domestic cricket
Abhimanyu Easwaran is one of the most capable players of India in domestic cricket, who first proved his batting prowess in the Duleep Trophy and then played a brilliant innings of 191 runs in the Irani Trophy. This 29-year-old batsman has scored 7506 runs in 98 matches played so far in first class at an average of 49.38, which includes 26 centuries and 29 half-century innings. Despite having such great figures, why he has not been made a part of the squad for the New Zealand series is beyond the understanding of the fans.
At the same time, Nitish Reddy, who has played only two international matches, has been included in the list of traveling reserve players for the series. It was believed that Easwaran would also be included in the team as a backup opener in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia, but when he was not selected for the New Zealand series, how would he get a chance for the Australia series. Easwaran has been a part of India's Test team before, but he did not get a chance to play a match. Now it remains to be seen how long Easwaran's wait continues.
Team India's squad for the Test series against New Zealand:
