Why were the statues of great men removed from the Parliament premises? Lok Sabha Secretariat gave the answer

The statues of Mahatma Gandhi, Babasaheb Ambedkar and Chhatrapati Shivaji have been removed from the Parliament premises and installed at another place. Politics has intensified over this. When the Congress targeted the government, the Lok Sabha Secretariat responded by issuing a statement.

The statues of Mahatma Gandhi, Babasaheb Ambedkar and Chhatrapati Shivaji have been removed from the Parliament premises and installed at another place. Politics has intensified over this. Congress targeted the government on Thursday. Congress is not right in doing this. In Maharashtra, when people did not vote for the BJP, the statues of Shivaji and Ambedkar were removed from their original place. A statement has been issued by the Lok Sabha Secretariat on these allegations of Congress.

The Lok Sabha Secretariat has said in its statement, 'After the construction of the new Parliament building, the Parliament complex is to be landscaped and beautified. The Parliament complex comes under the jurisdiction of the Lok Sabha Speaker. The statues have been relocated only with his permission. The statue of any great man has not been removed, rather it has been installed in an orderly and respectful manner inside the Parliament complex.'

'These great men are a source of inspiration for the present and future generations'

'Statues of great men were installed in different parts of the campus. These great men have made a significant contribution in the country's independence and furthering the democratic journey thereafter. These great men established the tribal pride of the country. They paved the way for the upliftment of the exploited and deprived society. They are a source of inspiration for the present and future generations of our country.'

'For this reason the statues are being installed at Prerna Sthal'

The statement further said, 'Visitors to the Parliament premises were not able to see these statues easily. For this reason, the statues are being installed respectfully in a grand Prerna Sthal in the Parliament House premises itself. This Prerna Sthal is being developed in such a way that visitors coming to visit the Parliament premises can easily see the statues and take inspiration from their life philosophy.'
