There is good news for the youth who are dreaming of making a career in the medical field. The National Medical Council has withdrawn its guidelines to reduce MBBS passing marks by 40 percent. In this regard, NMC said that it is not possible to reduce the cut-off in MBBS pass marks by 40 percent.
MBBS passing marks were increased to 40 percent by the National Medical Council in September. Now once again it has been increased to 50 percent. NMC said that the decision has been taken after careful consideration of the subject matter.
What is MBBS Passing Marks?
An order was issued by NMC on September 1, 2023, in which it was said that MBBS students will have to obtain minimum 40 percent marks to pass in the subjects in which there were two papers. Let us tell you that according to the earlier rule, the passing marks were 50 percent. This order has been withdrawn by NMC after just one month. Now MBBS students have to score only 50% marks to pass.
Medical students will have to follow the old rules of NMC. MBBS students have to score 50% marks to pass theory and practical exam.
