The festive season has not yet fully started in India, and spring has started appearing in the market. Although festive season is considered best for all kinds of shopping, but it is the best season for purchasing vehicles. According to the current data, more than 62,000 vehicles are sold every day in the country, whose number may increase further in the second half of October. Latest data also indicates that 2-wheelers still remain the choice of most people in the country.

Auto companies in India and their organization SIAM share the details of the vehicles dispatched from the factory every month. Whereas their sales in retail are quite different. Ultimately, the amount of retail sales of vehicles from the dealers' shops is done by the dealers' organization 'Federation of Automobile Dealers Association' (FADA).

FADA has shared the latest data of sales for September 2023, which shows that the total sales of vehicles in September this year have increased by 20.36% as compared to last year. In September last year, a total of 15,63,735 vehicles were sold in the country, which has increased to 18,82,071 vehicles this year.

2-wheelers still the first choice

If we talk about the total vehicles sold in the country, about 70 percent of the vehicles have been only 2-wheelers. In September 2023, 13,12,101 2-wheelers were sold within the country. Whereas the sales of passenger vehicles were only 3,32,248 units. If we compare with last year, there has been a growth of 21.68 percent in the sales of 2-wheelers, whereas the growth in the sales of passenger vehicles has been only 19.03 percent.

These vehicles also sold in the country

If we look at apart from 2-wheelers and passenger vehicles, the sales of 3-wheelers in the country have increased by 48.58 percent compared to last year. Their total sales including e-rickshaw, auto rickshaw, e-rickshaw pickup, pick-up three-wheelers etc. have been 1,02,426 units. Whereas commercial vehicle sales were 80,804 units. A total of 54,492 tractors have been sold in the country during September 2023.
