Mohammad Hafeez also raised questions on Dharamshala ground, reprimanded BCCI

The seventh match of the World Cup 2023 is to be played between England and Bangladesh at the Dharamshala Cricket Stadium, but even before this match, a ruckus has started regarding the outfield of Dharamshala. England captain Jos Buttler was already unhappy with the outfield of Dharamshala and now former Pakistan all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez has also termed this outfield as dangerous.

Not only did Hafeez raise questions on the outfield of the Dharamshala ground, he also slammed the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for the poor planning and organization of the ongoing 2023 World Cup. Retired Pakistani cricketer has accused BCCI of being short minded for the competition. Speaking on a local sports show, Hafeez said he couldn't be more disappointed with what he saw within four days of the tournament.

Hafeez said, "We have seen the entire World Cup in just four days, so far I have seen poor organization and poor planning from the organizers. The second biggest issue of this World Cup is the poor response from the fans. When you play a global event, "If you are hosting the event, you have to take decisions on a global scale (on a large scale). You can't make big decisions with small thinking."

Speaking at the Dharamshala ground, he said, "Nobody has talked about it but the Dharamshala outfield is a big question mark. It is not safe for the players."

Before Hafeez, England captain Jos Buttler had also expressed concern about the outfield of Dharamshala Cricket Ground. Butler said, "I think it's bad in my own opinion. It's not as good as it could be or should be. Certainly if you feel like you have to hold yourself back, that's the place to be." That's not where you want to be as a team, or as a player, or in a World Cup match. The powers that be are comfortable. The only thing I would question is if you allow players to dive. "Doesn't it raise questions about the integrity of the game if we are preventing players from playing? The worst case scenario is that something bad could happen, but hopefully that won't happen for both teams."
