Good news for Sri Lankan team, Mahesh Theekshana will play PAK vs SL match

 

Sri Lanka's second match in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 will be played against Pakistan on Tuesday, October 10 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. Before this match, a big good news has come from the camp of the Lankan team. Actually, the team's star spin bowler Mahesh Theekshana has completely recovered from his injury and is going to be available for the match against Pakistan.

Sri Lankan team's assistant coach Naveed Nawaz has given an update on Mahesh Theekshana's injury. He said, 'Mahesh Theekshana is fit and should play tomorrow. In the first match (SA vs SL), the Lankan team did not want to take any risk due to medical advice, but now they should be ready for this match.

Let us tell you that Theekshana was a victim of hamstring injury during Asia Cup 2023. He had a muscle strain due to which he was not available for the match against South Africa, but now if his injury is cured, he can once again strengthen his team. Theekshana is a wicket-taker, so his return will be a relief for the team.

Let us tell you that Sri Lanka had lost its first World Cup match against South Africa by a huge margin of 102 runs. In this match, South Africa had set a big target of 429 runs on the score board against the Lankan team, due to which they had to face defeat despite the good performance of the batsmen. In such a situation, now Sri Lanka would like to return to the tournament by winning against Pakistan.
