Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani has become the richest Indian by overtaking Adani Group chief Gautam Adani. According to 360 One Wealth Hurun India's Indian Rich List 2023, the wealth of the 66-year-old Reliance Industries chief has increased marginally by two per cent to Rs 8.08 lakh crore, while Adani's wealth has declined by 57 per cent to Rs 4.74 lakh crore. Hurun's managing director and chief researcher Anas Rehman Junaid has blamed the Hindenburg report published in January for the decline in Adani's wealth.
In January, American financial research and investment company Hindenburg had accused Adani Group of accounting fraud and manipulation of share prices and improper use of foreign units. After these allegations, there was a big fall in the shares of the group companies. However, Adani Group has rejected these allegations. A total of 1,319 people from 138 cities are included in this list.

Cyrus Poonawala of vaccine manufacturing company Serum Institute of India still remains the third richest Indian. His assets have increased by 36 percent to Rs 2.78 lakh crore.
The wealth of Shiv Nadar of HCL Technologies increased by 23 percent and he remains at fourth position with assets worth Rs 2.28 lakh crore.
The ranking of most of the people included in the top 10 has improved. Gopichand Hinduja is now at fifth position, while Dilip Shanghvi is at sixth position, Lakshmi Niwas Mittal is at seventh position, Kumar Mangalam Birla is at ninth position and Neeraj Bajaj is at tenth position.
The total assets of D-Mart's Radhakishan Damani declined by 18 percent to Rs 1.43 lakh crore. With this, he has slipped three places to eighth place in the list of the rich.
Zoho's Radha Vembu has overtaken Falguni Nair to become the richest Indian woman, while Zepto's Kaivalya Vohra is the youngest woman in the list.
At the age of 94, Mahendra Ratilal Mehta of Precision Wires India Company made a place in this list for the first time.
Hurun said that last year two new billionaires were added every three weeks in India and now the number of billionaires has reached 259. This is a 4.4 times increase in 12 years.
