CWC 2023: Close final predicted between England and India, English legend also reacted about the winning team

Not even a week has passed since the start of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 (CWC 2023) and England's legendary fast bowler James Anderson has made a big prediction regarding the final of the tournament. According to him, the final match of the World Cup will be between the defending champions England and India (ENG vs IND) and the English team will win in a close match.

In the ongoing World Cup, England's start was not as per expectations and they had to face a crushing defeat by 9 wickets against New Zealand in the very first match. At the same time, India had a great start and the team defeated five-time champion Australia in its first match.

James Anderson revealed the names of the teams that will reach the semi-finals

Speaking on BBC Test Match Special, Test cricket's most successful fast bowler picked England, India, Australia and South Africa as the four semi-finalists and predicted his team England to be the winner in the final. Anderson said,

There will be teams from England, India, Australia and South Africa in the semi-finals. I liked the way South Africa came back in the series against Australia. His batting is strong and he also has good options in bowling. New Zealand and Pakistan will also be close to going ahead but it will not happen. I can see England beating India in the final.

After the big defeat against New Zealand, the England team will be desperate to bounce back and they cannot be underestimated. The team is known for its fearless approach and can be expected to make a strong comeback. Jos Buttler's team has to play its next match in the tournament against Bangladesh on October 10. However, Ben Stokes will not be there in this match and he will sit out for the second consecutive match. Stokes has suffered a hip injury and due to this he will not be played.
