India's ambitious project Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) is going to start soon. This project will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. However, the exact date and time of its launch has not been decided yet. But it is likely to start at the end of this month. On Thursday, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath reached Rapidex station in Sahibabad and took stock of the preparations and inspected the station. Senior officials of the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) also gave a video presentation to the Chief Minister. In which detailed information was given on all related aspects.
The special thing is that after the completion of this system, the journey from Delhi to Meerut will become much easier. Also, travel time will be reduced by 40 percent. At present the travel time from Delhi to Meerut by bus is 120 to 150 minutes. The travel time from Delhi to Meerut by car is also around 120 minutes. Whereas with Rapid Train this time can be reduced to 90 minutes or less.
Priority corridor route
The priority section of Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS corridor is ready for operation. At present, the 17 km long priority section extends from Sahibabad to Duhai. There will be five stations in this priority section. Which includes Sahibabad, Ghaziabad, Guldhar, Duhai and Duhai Depot.
What is the importance of RAPIDEX service?
With the introduction of regional rail service on the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS corridor, people can travel faster between the national capital and Meerut. RAPIDX service will provide a modern, sustainable, convenient, fast, safe and comfortable means of travel. After completion of the entire corridor, RRTS will reduce the travel time between Delhi and Meerut by 40 percent. NCRTC aims to open the entire Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut corridor for public use by 2025.
