Pandit Arun Trivedi and Pandit Shyam Guru Trivedi, the priests of Shri Kutumbeshwar Mahadev, who holds the 14th place among the 84 Mahadevs of Ujjain, told that this temple is located in front of the Disaval family residence in Simhapuri, which is very ancient and very miraculous. A total of three Shivlings are installed in the sanctum sanctorum of the temple. In the center there is a Panchmukhi Shivling, about which it is said that the Shivling has four faces in all the four directions, while one face is upwards.
It is believed that the two Shivlings, which are made on the right and left of the Shivling, are of Lord Ganesha and Lord Kartikeya, which is sitting in the form of Shivling in this temple. Asitagampit Bhairav, Shri Siddhi Vinayak Ganesh, one of the eight Bhairavs, Bhadrakali Mata and the idol of Shankaracharya ji are also installed in the temple. Since this temple is very ancient, that is why the statue of Nandi ji is also sitting under the four old pillars.
The priest of the temple, Pandit Shyam Trivedi, says that by having darshan of Shri Kutumbheshwar Mahadev, the family grows. At the same time, man becomes free from diseases and attains Lakshmi. The priest also said that it is believed that if a person who visits Shri Kutumbheshwar after taking Kshipra bath on Sunday, Monday, Ashtami and Chaturdashi, he gets the fruit of Ashwamedh Yagya along with one thousand Rajasurya and hundred Vajpayee Yagya.
