Mughal History: After defeating Sher Shah Suri, when Humayun reached India to regain the empire, he brought only one woman with him, whose name was Maham Anga. That Maham Anga who was the wife of Humayun's milk partner Nadeen Khan.
Some women of the Mughal Sultanate were recorded in history in such a way that it is difficult to forget. There was also a woman in history who ruled the Mughal Sultanate. After defeating Sher Shah Suri, when Humayun reached India to regain the empire, he brought only one woman with him, whose name was Maham Anga. That Maham Anga who was the wife of Humayun's milk partner Nadeen Khan.
Maham Anga reached India with 13-year-old Akbar and Humayun. It has been written about him in Akbarnama that Akbar had the most attachment with this Maham Anga.
Thirty-six figures between Bairam Khan and Maham Anga
After regaining his empire, Humayun died and the responsibility of handling the power fell on Bairam Khan. Bairam, who made Akbar the emperor at the age of 14, had a figure of thirty-six between him and Maham Anga. Both did not like each other blindly.
Bairam Khan was understanding this thing very well, how Maham Anga wants to dominate the Mughal Empire on the pretext of Akbar. Wants to convince them of their words. She was doing the same. By reaching close to Akbar, she was increasing her influence on him. Mahamanga was playing tricks and was trying hard to remove Bairam Khan, who was called Akbar's patron, from his path.
and one day the trick went
Finally, one day Maham Anga did such a trick before which even Bairam Khan got killed. He persuaded the young Mughal emperor to send Bairam Khan on a pilgrimage to Mecca. Bairam Khan also had to accept this decision of Akbar. After breaking away from the Sultanate, he was killed in 1561 during a trip to Gujarat by a group of Afghans.
This incident proved to be icing on the cake for Maham Anga. Mohammad Hussain Azad writes in Darbar-e-Akbari that Bairam Khan had many enemies. Maham Anga, his son, son-in-law and many relatives were busy trying to establish their influence. Akbar also used to give a lot of importance to his relatives. Its effect was falling on the Sultanate.
The most influential woman of the Mughal Empire
After the death of Bairam Khan, Maham Anga rewarded many courtiers for their loyalty. After this, the scope of his power started increasing. The responsibility of the royal harem and the royal household was in his hands. Gradually, she started interfering directly in the matters related to Akbar's court and she became the political advisor of the emperor. In this way she became the first most powerful woman of the Mughal Empire. How important she was to Akbar, it can be understood from the fact that Akbar built a tomb for her.
