China has created a history again. It has been successful in launching a methane-liquid oxygen-powered rocket. In this way, China has become the first country in the world, which has sent rockets into space through this system. Methane-liquid oxygen is called cow dung in common parlance.

This rocket was launched by China on July 12, 2023 at 9 am according to Chinese time. The rocket took off from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center located in northwest China. It has been named JuQ-2. It has been built and launched by China's private company Land Space.

Methane is considered the best fuel for liquid oxygen pollution free, safe, cheap and reusable rockets. The rocket managed to meet all the standards set for itself. Private company Land Space got this success for the second time. The company's first attempt was not successful. After removing the weaknesses found in that effort, now the project has been successful.

This achievement is important for China because no country in the world has been able to do this till now. American company Space X is also engaged in this effort, but it has not been successful yet. The Chinese company Land Space and the American company Space X are rivals. India has also started work on a rocket flying with methane liquid oxygen.

What is its specialty?

The chemical name of methane is CH4. It is also called cow dung gas in common parlance. With this methane liquid oxygen, China's rocket has been able to reach the space. Interesting fact is also that methane can be made in space using water and carbon dioxide. One of its specialties is that one does not have to worry about keeping it too cold, because its density is high. Because of this, the risk of breakage of the container fitted in the rocket is negligible.
