Australia's playing XI announced for the fourth Test against England, after 11 years the team will play without a specialist spinner

Australia has announced its playing XI for the fourth Test match of the Ashes series 2023 to be held at the Old Trafford Stadium in Manchester from Wednesday (July 19) against England. Josh Hazlewood and Cameron Green have got a chance in place of Scott Boland and Todd Murphy in the team. It would be after more than 10 years that Australia would play a Test match without a premier spin bowler.

Green could not play the third Test due to a hamstring injury. His return will add more depth to Australia's batting line-up. Mitchell Marsh got a chance in place of Green and lived up to the trust of the team and scored a century in the first innings at Leeds.

The last time Australia played a specialist spinner was in the Test played against India in Perth in 2011-12. Let us tell you that Nathan Lyon, who played 100 consecutive Test matches for Australia, has been ruled out of the series due to injury.

In the third Test, Murphy became part of Australia's playing XI, but he only got a chance to bowl 9.3 overs. Australia has the option of Steve Smith, Marnus Labuschagne and Travis Head for spin bowling.
