1st Test: Pakistan made a comeback on the strength of Shakeel and Salman, still 91 runs behind Sri Lanka



By the end of the second day of the first Test match against Sri Lanka at the Galle International Stadium, Pakistan has scored 221 runs in the first innings at the loss of 5 wickets. Pakistan team is still 91 runs behind in the first innings. Saud Shakeel and Agha Salman remained unbeaten at the end of the day's play. The second day's play could not be completed due to rain interruption. 

Pakistan had a bad start and 5 players were dismissed and returned to the pavilion till the total score of 101 runs. After this, Shakeel and Salman handled the innings together and scored brilliant half-centuries. There has been an unbroken partnership of 120 runs for the sixth wicket between the two. Shakeel scored 69 runs in 88 balls, while Salman remained unbeaten on 61 runs in 84 balls. 

So far Prabhat Jayasuriya took 3 wickets for Sri Lanka, Kasun Rajitha-Ramesh Mendis took 1-1 wickets.

Sri Lanka came out to play ahead of 242 runs at the loss of 6 wickets on the second day. Dhananjay de Silva scored his tenth century while batting brilliantly. De Silva scored 122 runs in 214 balls with the help of 12 fours and 3 sixes. Apart from this, Angelo Mathews played an inning of 64 runs in 109 balls. 

Shaheen Afridi, Naseem Shah and Abrar Ahmed took 3-3 wickets for Pakistan, while Agha Salman took 1 wicket in his account.
