The film, directed by Sudipto Sen, is claimed to be based on the real story of Kerala. It is being said that at some point of time 32000 girls from Kerala were forcibly converted and included in ISIS. The story of the film 'The Kerala Story' of three girls through whom the conspiracy of conversion is being shown to the people. Two of these girls are Hindu named Gitanjali and Shalini and one is Christian named Nimah. At the same time, the twist in the story of the film comes when they are framed by local Muslim boys and a conspiracy is hatched to send them to Syria to ISIS terrorists. It is also shown in the film that those girls are brainwashed to convert to Islam.
