SBI Guidelines: State Bank of India has issued a new guideline to replace notes worth Rs 2000. SBI told that notes can be changed in any branch without ID card and form.
SBI Guidelines: After the announcement of RBI to stop the circulation of 2000 rupee notes, they have to be changed in banks. Earlier it was found that 10 notes worth Rs 2000 can be changed in banks by filling ID card and form. Now the State Bank of India has issued a statement saying that it will not be needed. Note of 2000 value can be changed in any branch of SBI without form and ID card.
This statement of State Bank of India came when rumors and misinformation to replace currency notes were going viral on social media. It was being claimed on social media that to withdraw one's own money one has to give ID card and fill the form. Now SBI has made it clear that neither Aadhaar will be required nor any form will have to be filled to change currency notes.
The process of changing currency notes will start from May 23.
The Reserve Bank of India had announced on Friday to stop the circulation of currency note of Rs 2000. RBI made it clear that Rs 2000 currency notes have not been banned. However, the Reserve Bank has fixed the time limit for changing the notes. Till September 30, these notes will be available in the bank. The process of changing the notes will start from May 23. During this, these notes will continue to be used as they are.
