Yes, these five women officers, who will pass out from the Officers Training Academy on April 29, will be commissioned in the Frontline Artillery Regiment. After this they will be posted on the border as colonel and beyond. A senior official gave this information on Saturday.

Women officers will take on the enemy on the borders

According to the Indian Express report, the officer says that the Indian Army has worked at many levels to empower women officers. This is so that he can face the enemies on the border with his understanding. This is a big step in that direction. The official said that recently a 'Senior Command' course was organized at the Army War College in Mhow. Its purpose was to train women officers in all arms of operational, intelligence, logistics and administrative aspects.

108 women officers were listed

He said that earlier this year, through a special selection board, the Army shortlisted 108 women officers for command assignments in the colonel-rank. The official said that the government has released 150 additional vacancies especially for these women officers. He said that instead of being forced to leave service after only 10-14 years as Short-Service Commission (SSC) officers, women officers had started getting Permanent Commission (PC) in the Army from 2020-21.

Women will use heavy weapons

Explain that there will be more than 280 units in the Artillery Regiment. In this, women officers will handle different types of howitzers, guns and multiple-launch rocket systems.
