Naturals is known as a brand of ice cream prepared from fruits, very few people know that its founder Raghunandan's father used to sell fruits. He inherited the quality of understanding the quality of fruits from his father.

Fruit sales experience came in handy

Born in Mangalore, Karnataka, Raghunandan Srinivas was the youngest of his 8 siblings. His father used to cultivate an acre of land and sell fruits. The economic condition of the house was not good. When he grew up, Raghunandan Srinivas started selling fruits with his father. During this he understood the quality of fruits. This experience came in handy in the future.

Raghunandan Srinivas was 14 when the family moved to Mumbai. Here he took admission in the school and studied. His elder brother started a South Indian restaurant in Mumbai. Raghunandan also joined this restaurant and started working. Here, after eating food, he started working on the idea of making something new in the form of desert. Actually, in those days people used to demand to eat something sweet after eating. It was here that he got the idea of making ice cream from fruit pulp.

Separated from brother and started a new

Raghunandan Srinivas wanted to make an ice cream that was different from other flavors like chocolate and vanilla. But no one took his idea seriously. After some time he parted ways with his brother and got a part of the restaurant and Rs 35,000.

They say, never wait for the big idea. The most important thing is to start with a small idea and win by converting it into a big achievement.

Started Naturals ice cream with 6 employees

Raghunandan stuck to his idea and started making and selling ice cream with 6 employees. Their fruit flavored ice cream was quite different in texture, color and taste. People liked it so much that 1 thousand less were sold in a week. After this he never looked back.

When the ice cream shop opened, they stopped selling pavbhaji. Some flavors of their ice cream were very much liked. It includes Custard Apple, Cashew-Raisin, Mango, Chocolate and Strawberry. Presently wife and son are handling the business together.
