The Bluesky application will now act as an alternative option to the microblogging platform owned by Elon Musk.

Recently, due to the ongoing changes on Twitter, Twitter has become very much in trend. Since yesterday, Twitter has removed the blue tick from the accounts of users actors, journalists, politicians and other celebrities. During this, Twitter's co-founder and former Chief Executive Officer ( CEO ) Jack Dorsey has taken a big step. He has launched the Bluesky application on Android which will now serve as an alternative option to the microblogging platform owned by Elon Musk.

According to the app's website, in the future, the social Internet will give users more options and creators freedom from platforms. However, the app is currently under development, this app can be accessed only with an invite code.

According to the website, platforms are creating the AT protocol, a new foundation for social networking that gives creators independence from platforms, developers freedom to build, and users a choice in their experience.

Bluesky: Twitter Alternate

In the year 2019, Dorsey started developing Bluesky as a side project with money from Twitter. It was first launched for iOS users. According to a TechCrunch report, basic features like monitoring likes or bookmarks available on Twitter, modifying tweets, quote-tweeting, direct messages and using hashtags are currently not present in Bluesky. This will make the application a better variant than Twitter.

20 thousand active users present on the app

This includes the protocol powering Mastodon, an open-source Twitter alternative, and more apps in the Large Fediverse, rather than adding to the work already done on ActivityPub. The demand for the application is increasing and currently it has 20,000 active users.
