Didn't say anything anti-India, will answer in Lok Sabha if given a chance: Rahul Gandhi

Recently, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, who went on a trip to London, had alleged that 'barbaric attacks' are taking place on Indian democratic structures. He also alleged that there is a widespread attack on the institutions of the country.

New Delhi: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, who has been facing constant attacks from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for his remarks about Indian democracy in London, said that if I am given a chance to speak and answer, I will speak in the Lok Sabha. Earlier, Union Law Minister Kiren Rijiju attacked Rahul and said that the country has rejected Congress and Rahul Gandhi, it does not mean that he got the right to insult democracy on foreign land.

On his way to Parliament, Congress MP Rahul Gandhi told news agency ANI, "I didn't say anything anti-India (at the London seminar). If they allow, I will speak inside Parliament."

Rahul Gandhi made allegations in London

Recently, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, who went on a visit to London, had alleged in a program that there are continuous 'barbaric attacks' on Indian democratic structures. He also alleged that there is a massive attack on the institutions of the country. However, in the second phase of the budget session of Parliament, BJP MPs are continuously creating ruckus in both the Houses regarding the comments made by the Congress leader and are also demanding an apology from him for his statement.

Expressing displeasure over Rahul's remarks, Rijiju said that anti-India forces and a gang had conspired to defame India on foreign soil and they are speaking the same language that Rahul Gandhi speaks. He said, “We speak in the interest of the public, but all the anti-India forces have the same language and line, which Rahul Gandhi speaks. Same language inside India and same language outside India. Those who work against India speak. He will have to apologize in Parliament. As MPs, it is our duty to ask him to apologise."

People have rejected Congress: Rijiju

The Union Minister also said that the country has rejected Rahul Gandhi and his Congress party, it does not mean that they have got the right to insult democracy on foreign land. He said, “Whatever Rahul Gandhi says, the Congress is at a loss. We have no objection to this. In what condition the Congress is, it is their internal matter.

On the other hand, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge accused the government of provoking the opposition and said on Thursday that it is not allowing Parliament to run to avoid discussion on the Adani issue and its 'failures'. Kharge once again said that there is no question of Rahul Gandhi apologizing for the remarks made in Britain.

Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Kharge said, “Have you ever heard that the people of the ruling party disrupt the proceedings everyday…? They first stand up and start raising slogans of Apologize, Apologize…, what is this? The government is instigating and they are preaching democracy to others."

Government sponsored disruption: Adhir Ranjan

On the other hand, Leader of Congress in Lok Sabha Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury wrote to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla against 'government sponsored disruptions' in the House and requested him to ensure that opposition members get an opportunity to express their views in a fair manner .

In a letter to the Speaker of the Lok Sabha, Adhir Ranjan Chowdhary also alleged that the mike on his desk has been switched off for the last three days, confirming Rahul Gandhi's statement that in India the mikes of opposition members are switched off. He said, "It is very sad to see that the government-sponsored disruptions are continuing after the commencement of the proceedings of the House on March 13, 2023."
