Mehul Choksi: Interpol had recently withdrawn the red corner notice issued against absconding diamond trader Mehul Choksi in the case of fraud of 13 thousand crores from Punjab National Bank . However, now the CBI says that getting relief from Interpol to Choksi will not affect the action to bring him back to India.
Earlier in the year 2018, on the appeal of the CBI, a Ray Corner Notice was issued against Choksi by the Interpol. On the other hand, while answering all the questions raised regarding the extradition of Choksi after withdrawing the Red Corner Notice from the Interpol, the CBI has assured that it will not make any difference to his extradition. The CBI has also informed that the request to bring him back to India is being considered by the Antigua and Barbuda authorities. At the same time, efforts are also being made to restore the notice of Interpol.

According to the CBI, the Antiguan authorities believe that there is ample evidence to prove that Choksi had concealed several things while applying for the citizenship of Antigua and Barbuda.
