Menstrual Leave Law: The Parliament of Spain, which is one of the European countries, on Thursday (February 16) approved the law to give medical leave to women suffering from period pain. Spain has become the first European country to pursue such legislation. The government said that 185 votes came in favor of making the law and 154 came against the law. Two groups divided over law
The law has caused division among both politicians and unions, with the UGT being one of the largest trade unions in Spain. He warned that it could stigmatize women in the workplace and favor the recruitment of men. The main opposition Conservative Popular Party (PP) has also warned that the law stigmatizes women and could have negative consequences for them in the labor market.
