Palak Idli Recipe: Start your day Tasty and Healthy with Nutritious Spinach Idli

Ingredients for Palak Idli

Semolina (Rava) – 1 cup

Spinach chopped – 2 cup

Carrot grated – 1/3 cup

Curd – 1 cup

Rai – 1 tsp

Urad Dal – 1 tbsp

Chana Dal – 1 tbsp

Cashew – 1 tbsp

Ginger chopped – 1 tsp

Green chilli – 2

cumin – 1 tsp Baking

soda – 1/4 tsp

Desi Ghee – 1 tbsp

Salt – as per taste

Method of making Palak Idli

To make Palak Idli, first wash and clean the spinach thoroughly. After this, break the stalks of spinach and chop them finely. Now put half a tablespoon of ghee in a pan and heat it on medium flame. When the ghee becomes hot and melts, add mustard seeds to it. When mustard seeds start crackling, add urad dal, chana dal and cashews and fry all the three ingredients well.

When these ingredients are roasted well, then add grated carrot to it and mix and fry all for 2 more minutes. After this, add 1 cup rava to this mixture and after mixing it well with the help of a ladle, fry for 2-3 minutes. After this, take out this mixture in a big vessel and add curd to it and mix it well. After this leave this mixture like this for 10 minutes.

Now put half a tablespoon of ghee in the pan again and heat it. Add cumin, ginger, green chili and fry for 30 seconds. Then add spinach and fry it by mixing it well. After that turn off the gas. When the mixture cools down, put it in a mixer jar, adding 1/3 cup of water, grind it finely and prepare a paste. Now add this smooth paste to the semolina mixture and mix.

After mixing this mixture well with the help of a spoon, add baking soda and salt as per taste. Now take an idli pot and grease all its sections with ghee. Put the idli mixture in it and cover it and let the idli cook on high flame for 15 minutes. After the spinach idli is ready, take it out in a vessel. Similarly prepare all spinach idlis and serve them with coconut chutney or green chutney.
