Hanging Pillar Temple: This temple is unique, a pillar is hanging in the air, yet it does not fall

It would not be wrong to call India a country of temples.
There are many such temples in our country, which are known for their grandeur and different beliefs. One such unique temple is also in Anantapur district of Andhra Pradesh. The most special thing about this temple is that one of its pillars is hanging in the air. But no one has been able to know its secret till date.

The Lepakshi Temple is also known as 'Hanging Pillar Temple' located in Anantapur district of Andhra Pradesh. There are a total of 70 pillars in the Lepakshi temple, out of which one pillar is not attached to the ground. This pillar is mysteriously hanging in the air. This pillar is raised half an inch above the ground. The pillars of Lepakshi temple are also known as Akash Stambh. It is said that the pillar of the temple was earlier attached to the ground, but a British engineer shook it. Since then this pillar is swinging in the air.

It is believed that taking something out from under the pillar brings happiness and prosperity in the house. This is the reason why the people who come here remove the cloth from under the pillar. In the Lepakshi temple there is a ferocious form of Lord Shiva, Veerabhadra. Apart from this, other forms of Lord Shiva, Ardhanarishwar, Skeleton Murti, Dakshinamurti and Tripuratakeshwar are also present here. Situated on the hills of Kurmaselam, this temple is built in the shape of a tortoise. It is said that this temple was built by two brothers named Virupanna and Viranna in the 16th century. However, according to mythology, this temple was built by sage Agastya.
