Former CBI director Ranjit Sinha died in Delhi


Former CBI director Ranjit Sinha died in Delhi this morning. 
A senior official was quoted by the news agency PTI as saying, it is believed that he died due to corona virus infection. He was 68. The official said that Ranjit Sinha's report of his Kovid-19 investigation on Thursday night came positive.

Ranjit Sinha, a 1974 batch IAS officer of Bihar cadre, had held many important positions before becoming CBI director. He was also the Director General of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) and the Railway Protection Force (RPF). Prior to assuming the post of CBI Director in 2012, he had worked in several senior positions of the agency in Patna and Delhi.

Today new records were filed again

A record 2,17,353 new cases of corona virus infection have been confirmed in the country. According to the Union Health Ministry, 1,185 people have died due to infection in the last 24 hours in the country. The number of active cases in the country has increased to 15,69,743, which is 10.46 percent of the infected cases. At the same time, the number of people who died from Kovid-19 in the country has increased to 1,74,308.
