The biggest Shivaratri of the year i.e. Mahashivratri is on tomorrow i.e. 11 March. Every year, Mahashivaratri is celebrated on the Chaturdashi date of Krishna Paksha of Phalgun month. This day is dedicated to Mahadev and Mata Parvati. It is believed that Mahadev and Mata Parvati were also married on this day. Devotees of Mahadev worship him by keeping a fast on the day of Mahashivratri and celebrate the marriage of Mahadev and Mata Parvati by awakening in the night.
