Popular hymn singer Narendra Chanchal passed away (Narendra Chanchal Passes Away) He was 80 years old. Narendra Chanchal had been ill for a long time, due to growing weakness in terms of age, he was admitted to Apollo Hospitals for the last two months. According to reports, he breathed his last in Delhi around 12:30 pm today.
Narendra Chanchal ji was known for his religious songs and hymns. Apart from performing in live events for a major part of his career, Chanchal sang a number of famous songs including "Chalo Balwa Aaya Hai" which became quite popular. Narendra Chanchal also received the Filmfare Award for Best Singer.
Narendra Chanchal was born on 16 October 1940 in Namak Handi, Amritsar. He was raised in a very religious environment. After a lot of struggle, he got work in Bollywood. He also sang songs in several films like Bobby, Anam and Roti Kadam and Makan.
Hearing the news of Narendra Chanchal's demise, many prominent personalities including Daler Mehndi, Harbhajan Singh have expressed grief.
