Now challan will be deducted if you don't tie seat belt on the back seat of the car

New Delhi:
Recently the West Delhi Traffic Police announced its campaign to ensure that people wearing back seats are well seated with seat belts. While this is surprising, you are actually required to wear a seat belt on the back seat as well.

There are actually laws for this and it is mandatory for all those sitting in the back seat to wear seat belts. Although the Delhi Traffic Police has not made any official announcement regarding the amount of challan issued to the motorists, who are found not wearing seat belts on the rear seats, it is being told that up to 1,000 officers Are fined.

It should be noted that this special operation by the West Delhi Traffic Police will also impose fines for two-wheelers found without rear view mirrors. It has started from 13 January 2021 and will run till 23 January 2021. Deputy Commissioner Western Range Traffic Police, Delhi has given this information in the notification issued by the department.

Older surveys of Indian motorists had revealed one of the major reasons for not complying with the provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act of 1988 and the Central Motor Vehicles Rules 1989, in relation to not wearing seat belts in the back row. Of course, many other factors are also in it including lack of awareness.
