Ind-Aus Series: India got a big shock, KL Rahul out of Team India

New Delhi:
Indian batsman KL Rahul, who did not make it to the playing eleven of the Sydney Test, was dropped from the Net-Gavaskar Trophy as he sustained an injury to his left wrist while batting in the nets. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) issued a statement to confirm this news.

The BCCI said, "KL Rahul injured his left wrist while batting in the nets at the MCG during Team India's practice session on Saturday. The wicketkeeper-batsman will not be available for the remaining two Tests of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy and will be complete He will need around three weeks to make his way back into the team. ''

"He will now return to India and undergo treatment at the National Cricket Academy in Bangalore," the BCCI said in a statement. Rahul was named as one of the most talented batsmen in India's Test team, he is one of the highest run-scorers in India.

Rahul's injury also raises doubts about the four-match home Test series against England, which starts on 5 February.

The players of Team India are currently suffering from injury. After two experienced pacers like Mohammed Shami and Umesh Yadav, KL Rahul's injury is not good news for Team India. Shami was ruled out of the tournament following a wrist fracture while Umesh Yadav suffered a muscle strain on the third day of the Boxing-Day Test in Melbourne.

Shardul Thakur was included in the team in the Boxing-Day Test. "Shami and Umesh Yadav will go to the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru for treatment of their injuries," the BCCI said in an official statement.

Rohit Sharma has been named as the vice-captain of the Indian team for the third Test. For the Sydney Test, Shamil is replaced by Navdeep Saini and Shardul Thakur in the line.

Under Ajinkya Rahane's captaincy, India returned to the Boxing Day Test, defeating Australia by 8 wickets. The third Test is to be played from 7 January.
