Great relief to the common man! Onion-potato prices have come down, find out here what will be the price next?

In the new year there is news of great relief for the common man.
In the wholesale market, potato prices have come down to Rs 9-12 per kg. So the price of
onion has come down to Rs 25 per kg. Traders say prices could fall further in the coming days. Because, the crop has grown a lot better. So that the pressure on prices will increase as revenue grows. Let me tell you, in November and December, the prices of potatoes and onions reached Rs 60 per kg.

Potato and onion prices may fall

Rajendra Sharma, general secretary, Azadpur Mandi Potato Onion Merchants Association, said onion prices have risen slightly due to recent rains, but prices may re-apply in the coming days. Because, the crop has been very good this year, so the revenue is expected to increase. Today, the wholesale price of potatoes is Rs 9-12 per kg. So the price of onion is 25-30 rupees per kilogram.

Krishnapuram Onion Export Approved

Let me tell you, the government has approved the export of all types of onions from January 1, 2021. Earlier, in October, the government revised the export policy for onions. So that by March 31, 2021, 10 thousand tons of two types of onion can be allowed to be exported. The DGFT issued a notification and allowed the export of Bangalore and Krishnapuram onions daily.

Have high hopes for the budget?

Rajendra Sharma says the central government should announce in the budget the formation of an expert committee that can accurately assess the realities of the crop and decide on imports in a timely manner. The biggest benefit of this is that the prices of Indian products will not go down if agricultural products are imported from abroad at the wrong time. Apart from that, the committee will also advise the government on exports.
