BCCI's assets increase by Rs 2,597 crore, reveals balance sheet of world's richest cricket board

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is by no means the richest board in the world of cricket.
Its 2018-19 balance sheet was Rs 14,489 crore. It has since added Rs 2,597.19 crore to its financial capacity. These figures are as per the latest balance sheet.

According to the balance sheet, the BCCI earned Rs 4,017.11 crore during the 2018 edition of the Indian Premier League. It had a net income of Rs 2,407.46 crore. However, the balance sheet has not been released yet and the 2019 balance sheet has not been created yet.

However, it is important to note that the board is involved in a number of high-profile cases. These include Income Tax, the old IPL franchises Kochi and Deccan Chargers, Sahara, Neo Sports and World Sports Group. The board may have to pay in all cases if a verdict is passed against it.

At the end of the financial year 2014-15, the BCCI had assets of Rs 5,438.61 crore. Its total assets increased from Rs 2,408.46 crore during 2015-16 to Rs 7,847.04 crore.

The board's assets stood at Rs 8,431.36 crore in 2016-17. In 2017-18, the Board increased its value in just one year and in 2017-18, the value of the Board increased by Rs 3,460.75 crore in a single year and its total assets reached Rs 11,892.21 crore. Now with the end of the year 2018-19, its balance sheet has increased to Rs 14,889.90 crore.
