The habit of cigarettes has to be given up for government jobs in this state

Jharkhand: The
government of Jharkhand has now laid down a unique condition for those who want to get government jobs. The Jharkhand government has said that applicants seeking government jobs will have to take an affidavit stating that the candidate does not consume tobacco products and will not consume tobacco products in the future. According to the information received, the new rule will be implemented in Jharkhand from April 1 next year. This rule will apply to those who are applying for a job in any department of the Jharkhand government.

It is learned that in a meeting with the Tobacco Control Committee held in Ranchi, Jharkhand last Tuesday, it was decided that food items would not be sold in shops which sell tobacco products. According to a media report, tea and biscuits will also not be sold in those shops. The issue was discussed so that today's new generation can avoid bad habits like tobacco use.

According to the state nodal officer of the National Tobacco Control Program, the committee has decided that the rule will come into force from April 2021. Everyone aspiring for a job in the Jharkhand government has to give an oath that they will not consume tobacco products in and out of the office. And action will be taken against shopkeepers selling cigarettes and gutkha within 100 meters of where the schools are located. Those who work in government jobs there will also have to swear that they will not consume tobacco products.
