New Delhi: In India, the competition in the mid-size or 4-meter compact SUV segment has increased. Following the decline in sales of its popular compact SUV Vitara Breza last November, Maruti Suzuki is all set to launch a superb car in the compact SUV segment which will be the cheapest but the least compact in India with features Kia Sonnet, Tata Nexon and Hyundai Venue. Maruti Suzuki will try to re-enter the compact segment with its new SUV, which is currently dominated by companies like Kia Motors, Hyundai India and Tata Motors.

Maruti Suzuki have given the upcoming compact SUV, codenamed currently YTB and will be developed based on the company's popular hatchback balenona. The features of this car will be very similar to the MPVs like Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and Maruti Suzuki XL6. Maruti Suzuki will sell its new SUV with the help of Arena dealership. Cars like the Blaeno and XL6 are currently sold by Nexa dealerships.
Area of
compact SUV segment The company will now offer new cars to the people and will not lower the price of the Breza after the Maruti Vitara Breza recently lagged behind in the compact SUV segment. In fact, Maruti Suzuki has suffered the most after the entry of Kia Sonnet and Nissan Magnet. In Teva, Maruti Suzuki now wants to expand this segment.
Engine and transmission
Maruti Suzuki's new compact SUV, like the Blaeno, will feature a 1.2-liter dualjet petrol engine capable of generating 90 PS of power and 113 Nm of torque. The car can be launched in 5-speed manual transmission as well as automatic transmission option.
Many new cars are coming
Maruti Suzuki's SUV may be launched in early 2021 or 2022 and its price may be between Rs 6 lakh to 10 lakh. Maruti Suzuki is working on plans to launch 4 new sub-compact SUVs and a new MPV by the year 2023. The details of which will come in the near future.
